Commissions:
What types of commissioned art do you offer?
I offer custom linocut prints in mostly black and white but happy to discuss a pop of colour! I also offer illustration services, be this event stationary, a menu design or even character design - I'm very diverse in my styles and approaches.
What subjects can I choose for my commissioned piece?
ANYTHING. From pet portraits, landscapes, architectural prints, and illustrations. Whether you’d like to capture a beloved animal, a meaningful place, or a unique idea, I’m happy to discuss your vision and bring it to life.
How do I start the commissioning process?
Simply fill out the contact form on my website OR email directly lucyandlinoprint@gmail.com and I’ll be in touch soon to discuss your ideas and provide a quote. A deposit is required to begin work.
How do I start my message to you?
I get really excited to hear your ideas! But I know it can be daunting to put them out there, or even know where to start! You could send me some reference images with a few sentences about them - this is a great way to start our conversation.
Can I provide a reference image for my commission?
Absolutely. Reference images are a huge help - as many as you can! This will help guide the creative process and ensure the final piece aligns with your vision. My direct email is lucyandlinoprint@gmail.com

How long does it take to complete a commissioned piece?
This would wholly depend on demand and the complexity of the piece. We can discuss estimated timelines when we go over your commission details.
What are the costs involved?
Pricing varies based on the size and complexity of the artwork. Once I understand your requirements, I’ll provide a quote along with delivery costs. For a linocut print, prices typically range from £100 to £300, depending on the size and detail of the design. This reflects the time required to draw, carve, and print by hand.
For illustration services this will depend on the quantity of artwork and materials. Please do not hesitate to reach out and start a conversation, and I can work on a personalised quote.
A deposit is needed before work begins.
General:
How do you make your Linocut prints?
Each linocut print begins with a hand-drawn design that I carve into a block of linoleum. I then apply ink to the block’s surface and carefully press the design onto paper by hand using a spoon and wooden baren. This detailed and time-intensive process ensures that each print is unique and part of a limited edition, adding to its special value.
How is the artwork delivered?
The artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped to your location. Delivery costs and timing will be coordinated based on your location and the size of the piece.
Where are you based?
I'm from Inverness in The Highlands of Scotland however, I live in beautiful Edinburgh.
Do you create artwork for special occasions (e.g., weddings, events, gifts)?
Yes I do! From weddings, to parties, to bespoke menu designs. Please see 'Wedding Artwork' and 'Commissions' pages on my website.
What materials do you use for your prints and illustrations?
For my prints, I use eco-friendly black ink, though I sometimes incorporate colour. My illustrations can be created using a variety of materials, including watercolour, ink, charcoal, pencil, and pen, depending on the style and effect you’re looking for.
Do you offer gift wrapping or personalised messages?
Yes! I wrap all my artwork carefully and ensure it is well presented. Just let me know and I will happily add a personalised message.
